Kabile is a
multi-talented group of seven musicians who perform the hauntingly expressive
melodies, irregular rhythms, and fiery dance tempos of their native Thrace
, in southern Bulgaria
, on traditional instruments: kaval (folk flute), gaida (bagpipe), gudulka
(folk violin), tambura (guitar), tapan
(large drum) and accordion. Their vocalist Donka Koleva was the featured singer
in the film "Everything is Illuminated".
The group
is comprised of professional musicians from Bulgaria
who have taught music in the Balkans, Eastern Europe and the USA . Their
performances are electrifying and full of wonderful music and song.
